⚠ This skill is no longer available upstream. Our re-check on Aug 10, 2026 couldn't find it any more (repo unreachable/deleted). The test below is what we measured on Jul 25, 2026 and we're leaving it up as a record — but there is nothing left to install, so we've removed the command.
Filed the same 'login times out after 30s on mobile Safari' bug both ways: the baseline produced a solid report, but the template added fields it omitted -- workaround availability, users-affected %, reproduction rate, business impact, a constitution checklist and ready Jira/Linear export blocks -- a real completeness gain for sprint-ready issues. The catch is broken plumbing: SKILL.md points at workflows/prod-clarify.md, prod-spec-story.md and prod-spec-task.md that do not exist (actual files are prod-spec-clarify.md, prod-spec-epic.md, prod-spec-issue.md), and quick-issue-template.md references a missing templates/stories-template.md, so the primary 'create a story' path dead-ends. The bug, task, spike, PRD, epic and constitution files are present and usable.
Scored on four weighted criteria — install, triggering, output vs. baseline, docs. How scoring works
- Installs cleanly 3/5
- Triggers reliably 5/5
- Output vs. baseline 7/10
- Docs & honesty 4/5
What Product Spec Kit does
A product-management documentation kit that produces PRDs, release plans, epics, user stories, tasks, bugs and spikes from constitution-governed templates with design-driven, testable acceptance criteria. Triggers when a user asks to create a PRD, break an epic into stories, or file a structured bug/task. Supports both full PRD -> Plan -> Stories workflows and standalone quick issues, with export snippets for Jira, Linear, GitHub and Azure.
How to install Product Spec Kit
Nothing to install: the source repository no longer has this skill. If the author brings it back, our daily re-check will pick it up and the command will reappear here.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the Product Spec Kit skill free?
- Yes. The skill itself is free from diegoeis/product-spec-kit. SkillProof publishes the install command and an independent test verdict at no cost.
- Does Product Spec Kit work with Claude Code?
- We tested it with Claude Code 2.x (agent harness) on Jul 25, 2026. Verdict: Works with setup. - Can I use Product Spec Kit with Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI, Codex or other AI tools?
- The SKILL.md format is native to Claude (Claude Code, Desktop, claude.ai). The instructions inside adapt to other assistants: Cursor rules, GitHub Copilot instructions, Windsurf rules, Custom GPTs, AGENTS.md for OpenAI Codex, and GEMINI.md for Google Gemini CLI — our conversion guides cover each, and the free converter on the tools page does the wrapping for you.
