This skill is no longer available upstream. Our re-check on Aug 10, 2026 couldn't find it any more (repo unreachable/deleted). The test below is what we measured on Jul 29, 2026 and we're leaving it up as a record — but there is nothing left to install, so we've removed the command.

Given the same vague idea — an AI tool for freelance designers drowning in client feedback — the no-skill answer invented a product: six numbered features, a Next.js/Postgres stack and $19/$49 pricing, all before knowing a single user fact, then batched five questions. The skill run produced zero features and zero pricing, labelled three items as confirmed, assumption and risk, offered three wedges with trade-offs and a recommendation, and asked one question about what actually happened on the last bad project. The difference is that it refuses to fabricate specifics it has not earned. The 29 PRD sections the skill body promises match the 29 headings in both the English and Chinese templates, and every referenced reference file exists in both languages.

Scored on four weighted criteria — install, triggering, output vs. baseline, docs. How scoring works

  • Installs cleanly 5/5
  • Triggers reliably 4/5
  • Output vs. baseline 8/10
  • Docs & honesty 5/5

What Product Idea Excavator does

Runs a product-manager style discovery interview on a rough product, startup or feature idea — one high-leverage question at a time — probing demand evidence, current workarounds, the narrowest wedge, MVP scope, AI feasibility and stack, then generates a 29-section PRD once the user says discovery is done. Bilingual: it mirrors the user's language and switches between Chinese and English reference files. Triggers when someone wants to sharpen an idea, define an MVP, or asks for a PRD.

How to install Product Idea Excavator
