Job Application Assistant
Structured fit-scoring, scam-check, CV/cover-letter, and interview-prep framework — built for its own CareerForge repo, not portable alone.

Wat het doet
Runs a 4-step job-application pipeline: weighted fit scoring against a candidate profile, a separate posting-legitimacy/scam gate, tailored CV and cover-letter drafting under a strict no-fabrication writing-style guide, and STAR-based interview prep. Triggers on applying to a job, evaluating a posting, writing a CV/cover letter, or interview prep, but the CV/cover-letter and salary-benchmark steps depend on LaTeX templates, fonts, and scripts that live outside this skill folder, at the parent CareerForge repo's root.
Testrapport
Ran a real before/after fit check on a synthetic posting with scam-ish red flags (personal Gmail contact, no company site, hybrid-Berlin vs. remote-only candidate): the baseline free-text review said 'decent fit, apply if willing to relocate' and never questioned the posting; the skill's structured framework flagged the personal-email/no-website signals as a Caution/Suspicious legitimacy gate before drafting anything and correctly force-overrode the fit verdict to 'Poor Fit' via the location dealbreaker rule the freeform baseline had glossed over — but the same run exposed that the skill's own salary-lookup script and LaTeX CV/cover-letter templates live at the parent repo's root, not inside the skill folder that gets installed.

git clone https://github.com/suraj-davariya/ai-job-search.git mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills cp -r ai-job-search/.claude/skills/job-application-assistant ~/.claude/skills/job-application-assistant # Fit-eval and interview-prep work with this alone (fail-open on missing data). CV/cover-letter PDF generation additionally needs: ai-job-search/cv/ (cfcv.cls, main_example.tex), ai-job-search/cover_letters/ (cfcl.cls, main_example.tex, OpenFonts/), ai-job-search/trust-safety/scam-patterns.json, ai-job-search/salary_lookup.py, the /setup·/expand·/reset commands from ai-job-search/.claude/commands/, and a LaTeX distribution (lualatex + xelatex, e.g. `brew install --cask mactex`) — none of which ship inside the skill folder.
